Welcome to The George Hotel &
Brasserie The George Hotel and Brasserie is one of Cranbrook’s landmark
buildings, dating back to the 14th century. Guests can easily access local
attractions, as well as enjoy the relaxing ambience of the hotel itself. The
George Hotel and Brasserie is a refreshing example of how striking period
features can be supported with a modern, contemporary décor. The interior is
sophisticated, whilst maintaining the attraction of candlelit tables and log
fires. Every aspect of the hotel and brasserie is arranged around good quality
and excellent service. Guests will notice the attention to detail, whether
enjoying a meal in the award winning restaurant or relaxing with a drink at the
bar.

The hotel is a
privately owned, family-run business. Mark and Sara Colley, with their two
children Benjamin and Beth, bought the property in June 2004. After extensive
refurbishment, they re-opened as The George Hotel and Brasserie in November
2004. Guests have come to expect the warmest welcome with excellent, but
unfussy service. In design terms, the intelligent pairing of old and new is a
reflection of Mark and Sara’s ‘anything is possible’ attitude. This philosophy
extends to every aspect of the hotel and brasserie. All bedrooms are fully en
suite and offer ‘home-from-home’ comforts. In each generously-sized room
thought has been given to the features that will enhance your visit. Luxury
Egyptian cotton adorns the large double beds. Bathrooms are equipped with
fluffy white towels, bathrobes and complimentary toiletries from Gilchrist and
Soames’ Spa Therapy collection. A selection of bedrooms feature impressive
four-poster beds, and one includes a Jacuzzi bath for the ultimate spa-effect.
Family rooms are also available on request. For added entertainment all rooms
include Sky television, with a selection of channels, and DVDs are available
from reception. Guests are also provided with tea and coffee making facilities.
A trouser press can be found in each room.
